The Glendon College Student Union Office located in B-Wing and Philippe’s Office located in York Hall are used on a daily basis. The GCSU office being used primarily by students and student representatives and Philippe’s office being used by himself and occasionally to host meetings with students. While the air quality is the same for both offices, they are however, in two different parts of the building. The amount of students in one location may play a part in the decrease in air quality.
We do believe that it may be the smells and musty air being circulated around the area that has impacted the offices, Phillippe usually has the window open to allow for fresh air, however air quality has still come out to be unhealthy, the GCSU office without students present in the office, has unhealthy air quality. The final verdict for both the GCSU office and Philippe’s Office was moderate to unhealthy air quality, both being offices used on a daily basis at Glendon it was quite unfortunately to determine that the air being circulated in these offices are not healthy and could possibly impact the health of the students and professors.
Additionally, we believe that the in the bathroom and in the roof of York Hall and B-Wing play a vital aspect to the negative results in air quality, an improvement in the hallways in those areas will aid in an improvement of a safer air quality for students, staff and faculty.
